Removes stubborn fat, refines body and neck contours, and helps restore a more balanced shape.
Liposuction removes stubborn fat from targeted areas to refine contour and create a more balanced shape.
Best suited to people with localised fat they would like to reduce, particularly when diet and exercise have not changed the area.
Your aftercare will be tailored to your treatment plan, with clear guidance and ongoing support throughout recovery.
Your procedure is carried out by Mr John Biddlestone, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, at FrownDocs Stirling with careful planning and patient safety at the centre of treatment.
Where skin laxity is also a concern, liposuction can be combined with FaceTite or BodyTite to help tighten and refine the area.

Some areas of fat stay put however well you eat and however often you exercise. Under the chin, along the jawline, or in particular areas of the body, they can change your shape in ways that feel out of proportion with the rest of you. Liposuction at FrownDocs is a surgical treatment that removes that fat directly and sculpts the area for a smoother, more balanced contour, available to patients across Scotland at our Stirling clinic.
All procedures are carried out at our Stirling clinic by Mr John Biddlestone, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, making it straightforward for patients travelling from across Scotland. Where skin quality is part of the concern, liposuction can be combined with FaceTite or BodyTite to tighten mild to moderate laxity, or with surgery when a more significant skin improvement is needed.
The aim is a result that looks like it belongs to you: more defined and better proportioned, without looking worked on.
Liposuction removes fat from beneath the skin to reshape a specific area. It is not a weight-loss treatment, and it works best when you are close to a weight you are comfortable with but still have localised fat that does not respond to diet or exercise.
What liposuction alone cannot always address is the skin over the treated area. If your skin has good elasticity, it will usually settle well over the new contour. If it has started to lose firmness, removing fat on its own may not give you the definition you are hoping for. This is why we assess skin quality as carefully as the fat itself, and why combination treatment is such an important part of how we plan liposuction at FrownDocs.
The neck is often where fat and skin changes show first. A fuller area under the chin can soften the jawline and make the lower face look heavier than it is. Neck liposuction can restore a cleaner angle between the jaw and neck, and it is an area where Mr Biddlestone’s specialist focus is particularly relevant. Around 80 percent of his surgical work is in the head and neck, so he understands the anatomy here in real depth.
Mr Biddlestone is qualified to operate across many areas of the body, and liposuction can be used to sculpt body contours as well as the neck. Which areas are suitable for you, and what can realistically be achieved, is something he will assess in person at your consultation.
Liposuction tends to suit people who:
The deciding factor is rarely one single thing. It is the combination of where the fat sits, how your skin behaves and what you want to see when you look in the mirror. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you need. Working that out together is what the consultation is for.
This is where liposuction at FrownDocs is planned differently from a one-size approach. Fat and skin both play a part in how an area looks, so we choose the treatment based on both.
If your skin still has good firmness, liposuction alone may be all you need to remove the fat and refine the shape.
For mild to moderate skin laxity, liposuction can be combined with FaceTite (for the face and neck) or BodyTite (for the body). These technologies are designed to tighten skin from beneath, so the area is sculpted and firmed in the same treatment plan rather than leaving you with a slimmer but softer result.
When skin laxity is more advanced, tightening technology may not go far enough. In these cases, liposuction can be combined with additional surgery for a more dramatic improvement in the skin. For the neck and jawline, this may mean pairing liposuction with a procedure such as a deep plane face and neck lift. For the body, it may mean combining liposuction with abdominoplasty (lipobdominoplasty), where removing excess skin is an important part of the result. Mr Biddlestone will explain honestly whether this level of treatment is necessary or whether a less extensive option would serve you well.
Being clear about limits is part of giving good advice. Liposuction is designed to remove localised fat and reshape an area. It is not a substitute for weight loss, and it will not, on its own, correct significant loose skin. Skin texture and fine lines also sit outside what liposuction is designed to treat.
Because FrownDocs brings plastic surgery and non-surgical aesthetics together under one roof, we can look at the full picture with you. If a combination of surgical and non-surgical treatment would give you a better outcome, we will say so and plan it properly. If something else entirely would suit you better, we will tell you that too.
Your first appointment is a private, unhurried conversation with Mr Biddlestone at our Stirling clinic. There is no pressure to proceed and no obligation.
During your consultation, he will:
We also believe in giving every patient time to decide. You will leave with a clear picture of where you stand and the space to think it over before committing to anything.
Recovery depends on the area treated, how much fat is removed and whether liposuction is combined with FaceTite, BodyTite or other surgery. Rather than offering a general timeline that may not apply to you, Mr Biddlestone will explain what to expect for your specific plan at consultation, including how to prepare and how your aftercare will be managed.
Our on-site specialists in skin and scar care work alongside the surgical team, so your healing is actively supported and your result can be refined well after the initial recovery.
Mr John Biddlestone trained at the University of Cambridge, completed a PhD at the University of Dundee and holds advanced fellowships in microsurgery and facial reanimation. He also holds higher surgical qualifications including MRCS (Eng.) and FRCS (Plast.), and works with fellow surgeons on complex cases. As a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, he is qualified to operate across the body as well as the head and neck, bringing the same careful planning, surgical precision and emphasis on proportion to every procedure. For neck liposuction in particular, his concentrated experience in the region offers additional value where definition of the jawline and neck is a key concern.
FrownDocs was founded in 2018 by Dr Caroline Steele, a GP who built her reputation as a family doctor in Stirling. That medical grounding still shapes how we work: clear explanations, honest advice and a firm commitment to safety.
Because we can offer liposuction alone, alongside FaceTite or BodyTite, or combined with additional surgery, your recommendation is based on what your fat and skin actually need. You are not fitted to the one treatment we happen to provide.
Liposuction is carried out at our Stirling clinic, where Mr Biddlestone holds regular clinics and theatre lists. Patients travel to us from across Central Scotland for consultation and surgery, with Stirling offering straightforward access from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and beyond.
If stubborn fat around your neck or body has been bothering you, the most useful next step is a conversation with a surgeon who will look at both the fat and the skin, and tell you honestly what will help.

No. Liposuction is designed to remove stubborn, localised fat and improve shape, not to reduce overall body weight. It tends to work best for people who are already at or near a stable weight.
That depends on your skin’s elasticity before treatment. This is why we assess skin quality at consultation. If there is mild to moderate laxity, combining liposuction with FaceTite or BodyTite can help tighten the area.
Yes. If loose skin around the jawline and neck is part of the concern, liposuction can be combined with facial surgery for a more dramatic improvement. Mr Biddlestone will advise whether this is genuinely needed or whether liposuction, with or without FaceTite, would be enough.
All liposuction procedures are performed by Mr John Biddlestone, Consultant Plastic Surgeon. You will see him at your consultation and he will carry out your procedure.
It varies with the area treated and whether liposuction is combined with other treatments. Mr Biddlestone will explain the recovery for your specific plan before you make any decision.
The cost depends on the areas treated and whether FaceTite, BodyTite or surgery forms part of your plan. You will receive a clear, personalised quote once your treatment has been planned at consultation.
Not at all. Many people come to us knowing only what bothers them. Mr Biddlestone will assess you and recommend the approach most likely to give you the result you want.
