Cookies Policy

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small piece of data created and sent by a web page server to be stored on your computer's hard drive so it can be read back later from a browser.

Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (known as 'first-party cookies', e.g. those used for website analytics) or they may be set by other websites who run content on the page you are viewing (known as 'third-party cookies', e.g. when a video is embedded within a page).

We use first-party cookies to record how you use our website so we can keep fine-tuning it to bring you the best experience we can.

We don't sell the information collected by our first-party cookies. Ever.

Sometimes third-party cookies may be set where external content is displayed on our website. We don't have access to, or control over, the information they collect.

We don't disclose the information to third parties either, except where required by law.

What do cookies do?

Depending on their function and intended purpose, cookies can be divided into four categories: essential cookies, performance cookies, functional cookies, and marketing cookies.

  • Essential cookies are necessary for the smooth operation of a website. For example, some cookies identify a registered user, and disabling them may mean the user can't access their account.

  • Performance cookies are used to analyse how visitors use the website and to monitor website performance.

  • Functional cookies allow a site to remember your preferences, for example, saving you the trouble of typing in your username every time you access the site.

  • Marketing cookies allow advertisers to serve you with ads relevant to your interests as you browse the web.

In our cookie banner, these are labelled 'Necessary' (essential cookies, which are always on), 'Preferences' (functional cookies), 'Statistics' (performance cookies) and 'Marketing'.

How do you use cookies?

We use Google Analytics cookies (in the 'performance' category) for monitoring website traffic (how you got here, where you went, what browser/device you're using etc.). Google Analytics doesn't tell us who you are – we only see overall, anonymised reports.

We also use cookies (in the 'essential' and 'performance' categories) to run our online booking system, via our booking platform, Cliniko.

We use Google Ads cookies (in the 'marketing' category) to measure the performance of our advertising and to show you relevant ads based on your visit to our site.

We use Google Consent Mode to pass your cookie choices on to Google. If you don't consent, Google Analytics and Google Ads won't set any cookies on your device, though Google may still receive basic information without cookies (such as the fact that a page was viewed) to help estimate overall traffic.

Some pages include content from other websites: maps from Google Maps, and videos from YouTube and Vimeo. Google Maps and YouTube may set their own cookies, so we won't load them until you've given consent – until then, you'll see a placeholder instead. Our Vimeo videos use Vimeo's 'Do Not Track' mode, so Vimeo doesn't set tracking cookies.

We also set an essential cookie to remember your cookie choices, so we don't have to ask you on every page.

What does this mean to me?

This is the important bit.

Essential cookies are set automatically, because the site can't function properly without them. For any other type of cookie - performance, functional, or marketing - we'll ask for your consent before it's set, and you're free to accept or decline.

What if I change my mind?

That's okay, it happens. You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish.

You can change your choices at any time using the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer, and you can also set most browsers to prevent them from setting up home in the first place.

Which cookies do you use?

The list below is generated automatically by our consent tool, Cookiebot, from regular scans of our site. It shows each cookie, what it's for, who sets it and how long it lasts, along with your current consent status.
