Lines & Wrinkles
SMOOTHS LINES
SOFTENS APPEARANCE
YOUNGER-LOOKING SKIN
Those fine lines and wrinkles on the face? No, we’re not mad on them either. They’re caused by frequent movement of the skin. And time.
But they’re no longer an inevitable part of life. And at FrownDocs, we offer a range of treatments that can help.
Our trained clinicians will guide you through the various options and advise what will work best for you.
Following consultation, available options may include prescription-only medicines such as BOTOX®, though only where appropriate.
And if an injectable treatment is right for you, we guarantee it’s performed by a fully qualified Doctor.
You’re safe in our hands.

We can treat many areas of the face and neck, but the three most commonly requested are:
FOREHEAD
You know those horizontal lines that crack your makeup? Those. The forehead is made up of the frontalis muscle. When it contracts it lifts the eyebrows and, over time, causes horizontal lines to form.
FROWN LINES
Also known as vertical lines - they’re the ones above the nose that make us look permanently hacked-off. This area contains the glabella, a group of muscles which contract when we furrow our brow and, over time, cause vertical lines to form.CROW’S FEET
Not to be confused with laughter lines. We still like to smile with our eyes! The orbicularis oculi is the muscle around the eye that contracts when you smile and, over time, causes fine lines in the surrounding area.

During treatment, you’ll be asked to pull some facial expressions to allow us to assess your facial muscles and take photographs for your records.
After disinfecting your skin and marking the target sites, we inject the treatment into each highlighted area.
We also offer the use of a vibration device during treatment which research has shown can reduce injection-induced pain.
-
We’ve introduced pre-treatment ultrasound scanning - as standard - so we can ‘see’ under the skin and pinpoint important structures like veins, arteries and blood vessels before injecting. Find out more.

Results are noticeable within one week, with maximum effect approximately 2 weeks following treatment.
Though results have been shown to last for up to 6 months, between 3-6 months is more common.
A minimum of 3 months between treatments is required.

Botulinum toxin acts by blocking acetylcholine, the chemical which transmits electrical impulses that cause muscle contractions.
It is usually injected into the face to temporarily paralyse the muscles and has a temporary effect on the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.
It is also used to treat certain medical conditions, including excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), neuromuscular disorders and migraines.
