WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a small piece of data created and sent by a web page server to be stored on your computer’s hard drive so it can be read back later from a browser.

Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (known as ‘first-party cookies’, e.g. those used for website analytics) or they may be set by other websites who run content on the page you are viewing (known as ‘third-party cookies’, e.g. when a YouTube video is embedded within a page).

We use first-party cookies to record how you use our website so we can keep fine-tuning it to bring you the best experience we can.

We don’t sell the information collected by our first-party cookies. Ever.

Sometimes third-party cookies may be set where external content is displayed on our website but we don’t see any of the information they contain, and in any case none of it contains any personal data.

We don’t disclose the information to third-parties either, except where required by law.

WHAT DO COOKIES DO?

Depending on their function and intended purpose, cookies can be divided into four categories: essential cookies, performance cookies, functional cookies, and marketing cookies.

Essential cookies are necessary for the smooth operation of a website. For example, some cookies identify a registered user, and disabling them may mean the user can’t access their account.

Performance cookies are used to analyse how visitors use the websites and to monitor website performance.

Functional cookies allow a site to remember your preferences, for example, when saving you the trouble of typing in your username every time you access the site.

Marketing cookies allow advertisers to serve you with those annoying ads that follow you around the web.

HOW DO YOU USE COOKIES?

We use Google Analytics & Squarespace Analytics cookies (in the ‘performance’ category) for monitoring website traffic (how you got here, where you went, what browser/device you’re using etc.). All information is recorded anonymously and doesn't provide or share any user-identifiable information.

We also use cookies (in the 'necessary' and ‘performance’ categories) to run our online booking system.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME?

This is the important bit…

By continuing to use our website you agree that we can place the cookies as described above on your computer for the reasons described.

WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?

That’s okay, it happens. You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish.

You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can also set most browsers to prevent them from setting-up home in the first place.
