Following consultation, one of our fully-qualified Doctors will assess whether the target area is suitable for treatment.
This depends the thickness of the fat, which is measured with a ‘pinch test’. Too little fat and the procedure carries unnecessary risk, whereas obesity is considered inappropriate for DESO fat dissolving.
From this we calculate the required product (DesoBody or DesoFace) dosage, the number of treatments necessary and the intervals between treatments.
Treatment areas are then marked on the skin and baseline photographs taken. Once the treatment area has been thoroughly disinfected, the product is combined with local anaesthetic, drawn into a syringe, and carefully injected using a small needle. This is repeated multiple times until the treatment is complete.
Post-treatment, you might notice tiny puncture marks and a little redness around the treatment areas, though these should both soon subside.

The primary agent in DESO fat dissolving products is a well-balanced concentration Sodium Deoxycholate / Deoxycholic Acid.
Naturally occurring in the body’s bile acid, sodium deoxycholate normally emulsifies and solubilises dietary fats.
When injected subcutaneously it works in much the same way; destroying fat cells by damaging the cell membrane and liquifying the fat, which the lymphatic system removes from your body over the following few weeks.
