I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. The training journey is extensive. I trained initially in England in early surgical jobs, then came to Scotland to train in plastic surgery.
Scotland has a strong history in plastic surgery, particularly head and neck surgery. Many internationally influential surgeons have worked and trained in Scotland, especially in Glasgow at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit — where I now work. I’ve benefited greatly from the historical significance and expertise of that unit, and it has shaped me into the surgeon I am today.
We really are lucky to have such expertise in Scotland.
